Classes of Black Desert Online 4: from Ranger to Striker

Shai is a rare beast. It's one of the few classes that don't have a succession line and one of the handful of classes that have distinct support capabilities. This is not what most other classes look like but that's because she's meant to be different. In both PvE and PvP settings she's an obvious team player and excels at powering up her allies and even sustaining damage (she's quite tanky). But when she's on her own she struggles with basically anything combat-related. That's why it won't be a perfect choice for people who want to grind like crazy or do solo content with her. She's more about chilling with teammates and enjoying unique activities that only she has access to like music composing, for example. It's a peculiar choice and we'd recommend it to those who already have some experience with the game and just want a change of pace.

Striker is a sorta male version of Mystic as his theme also employs the martial arts aesthetics. He's less combo-reliant than Mystic, however, and you'll find his skillset to be surprisingly simple to comprehend. The succession Striker is good at fighting single targets. It might be a useful thing in particular situations but in PvE you'll struggle with massive enemies waves during grinding and in PvP you'll have a hard time dealing with teams of opponents. But when it's 1 versus 1 in PvP or 1 versus few in PvE, you're gonna be really good. As for the awakening it's a more mainstream idea of what a martial arts master must be like. You have a decent health pool, decent damage, some combos, and AOE damage. A great set to create threats for anyone. That's some sort of af a jack of all trades. Granted, you won't overdamage assassins and overtank tanks, but you don't have to as your place is the golden middle. We'd say that awakening Striker is a great choice for new players to learn to be confident in BDO. As for succession, well, you can definitely have some fun with it too.
