Necrom: Shadow of Morrowind – What do we know about ESO's next chapter?

Finally! We now know what future holds for Elder Scrolls Online and all its fans. The next chapter has been revealed and it's called Necrom: Shadow of Morrowind. And yes, it's the first time that the title consists of 2 parts – and it looks kinda awkward. Hopefully, the content will be way more inspiring and convincing – and there are all the reasons to believe that that will be the case. In this blog post you'll learn all that is currently known about this mysterious Necrom thing!

What is the release date?

The Necrom: Shadow of Morrowind chapter arrives for PC and Mac on June 5, 2023. The console release happens later than that – June 20, 2023. It goes live at the same time for all consoles that have ESO: Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X.

What does it include?

The full list of new features looks like this:

  • New zones (Telvanni Peninsula, a part of the Morrowind province)
  • New stories and lore (dark elves and daedra)
  • New class (arcanist)
  • New companions (Redguard arcanist and Argonian warden)
  • New trial (Sanity's edge)
  • New world events (Oblivion raids)
Looks pretty peculiar, especially the new class – we haven't got a new one for quite a while. It's still unclear how exactly it will be different gameplay-wise but hopefully it will be fun to play! As for the rest of the features, that's a pretty standard set which is not a bad thing. We're excited to learn what new sets the trial will bring along with new challenging boss fights. The stories and zones look like a real treat to lore enthusiasts. And the setting itself is quite awesome – the developers describe it as "cosmic horror" which is quite fitting since this Necrom gives us Alien- and Lovecraft-esque vibes. So far it looks like we're in for another year of high-quality content – and that's just brilliant!

What is the pricing?

You can pre-purchase Necrom: Shadow of Morrowind for $25 if you play on PC/Mac (we've checked the price on Steam) and for $40 if you play on console (PS/Xbox). See the full pricing here.

Will ArmadaBoost have boosts for it?

At the beginning of each year all ESO fans get a lovely surprise of a beautiful announcement trailer telling us about a brand new journey that we will set out on in summer. That's the beautiful cycle of both Elder Scrolls Online and nature. We're so used to it at this point that not getting such an announcement would feel weird. So we're happy we got yet another year of new content in ESO and the game is not likely to lose such dedicated support from its developers anytime soon. So let's enjoy this new chapter together! And if you ever need any help with in-game challenges, you can always rely on ArmadaBoost for help! Check out our ESO catalog or just get in touch with us directly to learn more or order something!
