Warcraft Rumble: 3 Great Decks for PvP (Dragon Tower)
Warcraft Rumble is a fairly fresh game and you wouldn't expect many builds exist for it. But theorycrafters never sleep. So we already know several great decks that would greatly improve your performance. And today we decided to show you some of such builds. In this article we'll focus on 3 effective and simple PvP builds that are particularly good against Dragon Towers (we'll tell more about them below too if you're not sure what they are). So without further ado, let's roll!
What is the Dragon Tower?
Dragon Tower is a type of tower that can be active in the PvP mode at a particular given week. It's different from other towers in that it does cone area-on-effect damage to minis at a close range. Obviously, that requires some long-distance attackers: that will make your party suffer less damage and each of your minis will survive for longer.
But don't expect Rumble to be a 1-dimensional game: if you just spam long-range fighters to your roster, you'll be good at demolishing Dragon Towers – but what about other threats? If you focus on just one thing, your army becomes very vulnerable in some other way, so take care. Below you'll find 3 great ideas on how to build an army that won't have problems with Dragon Towers and that also won't get wrecked by any other type of enemy.
Jaina: AOE spells + hounds

The 2 spells that you're supposed to add to your deck – Arcane Blast & Blizzard – are essential for this build as they let you apply more pressure when attacking and help you slow down enemies' waves.
Jaina herself, pilots, and drakes apply pressure from afar and thus contribute to a very balanced army that is capable of dealing with virtually any opponent.

Rend: the unbound squad

Rend only comes to the battlefield in style, riding on the back of his mighty dragon. In this build there are 2 more dragonkins in his pack which makes it a real dragon squad! 3 flying units are not an everyday occurrence and what that means is that you'll hardly ever have many problems with ground melee units but you should keep an eye on ranged ones.
You'll have 2 melee and 2 ranged types of units to balance it all out. The melee units include Defias bandits that come as a group and a Quilboar that is a backbone of many builds these days. The ranged units under your command in this build are another staple of most builds S.A.F.E. Pilot and a somewhat more exotic but still quite able Darkspear Troll.
Another important feature of this deck is that it has 3 minis with the unbound perk which lets them be deployed anywhere on the map, not just necessarily at the points under your control. Those unbound units include the S.A.F.E. Pilot, Quibloar, and Whelp Eggs. What that means is that your army is much more flexible than many others and you can apply pressure to any point of the battlefield. It can also be a very valuable defensive tool if a group of enemies somehow manages to find their way to your vulnerable building. Also, your extra gold income from veins and chests can also be effectively secured with the help of these units.
The pushing team here is quite obvious: Rend makes for a wonderful tank and the Drake delivers lots of damage. Dragon towers are highly ineffective against such duet. Don't forget about Trolls that are also very useful against Dragon towers that pose little threat to them due to Trolls being ranged units.

We told you that the Rend build is packed with unbound units and that makes it very versatile. And it had as many as 3 such minis. What would say now if we told you that this Maiev build includes 4 of unbounds? That's right: Maiev herself can be spawned anywhere and so can be the SAFE Pilot, the Quilboar, and the Skeleton Party. Still not enough? Okay, add the Arcane Blast to it that is not a unit but that can still be used anywhere. What you get as a result is a crazy high-mobile deck that you can control the battlefield with like no problem at all.
Some might say that the downside of this build is the low number of flying units (only 1 – the gryphon) but that's not much of a problem since most other builds rarely go beyond that (with Rend being an obvious outlier here). The rest of the team is well balanced: 2 Melees (Maiev, Quilboar), 2 Ranged (Pilot, Huntress), and 1 hybrid (Skeleton Party consists of melee and ranged skeletons).
The Skeleton Party greatly improves your versatility (even though you could think that you've already reached the maximum of it). Take the 5-man talent to add the taunt effect to one of the members of the group and you'll get a perfect pushing group. Naturally, it won't make much sense to let them go on their own, so send Quilboars, Pilots, and Huntresses along. Huntresses might be quite expensive but they are also powerful and you'll get lots of value from summoning them – but only if they have melee protection in the shape of skeletons or quilboars.
